Family Sponsorship

Sponsoring a family will ensure the most needy do not go hungry. Your sponsorship will provide rice, soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic and a small amount of cash each month. It is considered a “hand up” not a “hand out”. The amount of rice given is sufficient to sustain the family but still requires them to help themselves. Finding employment, planting fruit and vegetables for additional food and/or selling, keeping chickens & ducks, starting a small business, farming, etc is also a requirement and encouraged and assisted by Mother Home Cambodia School.

To be eligible for sponsorship, parents or guardians agree to send their children to school and to attend English classes provided by Mother Home Cambodia School.

Student Sponsorship

Many families are unable to send their children to school because of financial hardship.  Students are required to wear uniforms, supply their own books & materials and in many schools, pay a small fee to supplement the teacher’s low salary.   Some students live many km from school and need a bike to make the daily trip to school. In the wet season it is very difficult if they have to walk.

Hopefully our young students will eventually progress to University or other forms of tertiary training. The opportunity to continue supporting your special student through University or other forms of tertiary training will be available, should you want to continue your support.

Primary School Student

$30 per month will supply the following for a Primary School Student:

  • Uniforms (2 shirts, 2 skirts/shorts) twice a year
  • School materials pack (books, pens, pencils, rulers) twice a year
  • US$10 cash per month for pocket money, additional school needs
  • Supplement the teacher’s salary at Khmer school
  • Supply bicycle where necessary

High School Student

$40 per month will supply the following for a High School Student

  • Uniforms (2 shirts, 2 skirts/shorts) twice a year
  • School materials pack (books, pens, pencils, rulers) twice a year
  • US$10 cash per month for pocket money, additional school needs
  • Supplement the teacher’s salary at Khmer school
  • Supply bicycle where necessary

University/Tertiary Student

There are many worthy students struggling to complete their higher education due to lack of funds. Mostly they work one or two jobs in an effort to support themselves.   Cost will depend on the particular course and learning establishment. Generally courses are between US$500 – US$650 per year and would take 4 to 5 years to graduate. Materials, such as text books, are normally an additional cost. This is an optional extra for the sponsor and would be advised as and when needed.

Community Care Program

Preserving the health and saving the lives of parents and children is fundamental in improving the living standard of families and the culture of Cambodia. Our Community Care Program conducts regular assessments of families, providing a range of services including health and dental care, family planning advice, formula for starving babies, counselling, emergency shelter, food and clothing.

You can participate in our Community Care Program, providing relief in emergency situations, by donating US$25, US$35, US$45 or US$50 per month. Or, alternatively, a one off donation is always gratefully accepted.
